Global Warming Consequences: by US State, by Country, by College

<< Index

The average global surface temperature has increased by approximately 0.5-1.0°F (0.3-0.6°C) over the last century.
Average global temperatures may increase by 1.4-5.8ºC by the end of the 21st century.
Sea levels are also expected to increase by 0.09 - 0.88 m. in the next century, mainly from melting glaciers and expanding seawater.

Hundreds of research projects are being carried out throughout the world, the main aim of these projects is to decrease the use of the non renewable source of energy and to increase the use of renewable source. These resources include the use of sunlight, wind power, tidal energy geothermal energy, hydro energy etc. Apart from this the use of nuclear power is also a good alternative.

Of all these energies sunlight is the most important form of energy which is the most abundant one and the most versatile one.
Solar energy has the power to reduce greenhouse gases and provide increased energy efficiency, says a scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory, in a report published in the March issue of Physics Today.

The use of hydrogen as the alternate source of energy is the hottest topic among the scientists. Numerous researches are going on to use hydrogen as the replacement of fossil fuel. Million of dollars have been pumped into the research to get a good alternative but there has been no great achievement yet. Time will prove what will be the future of human being.
