Global warming by definition is the rise in the the atmospheric temperature due the effect of rising green house gases level.
The main effects of global warming are:
- Rise in Sea levels: Melting of the Glaciers and Icebergs leading to the rise in the level of the sea. This rise in the sea level will ultimately lead to the submersion of the areas which are either below the sea level or the costal areas all around the world. Studies have shown that.......
- Climatic change: Climatic change leading to more and more devastation. Examples can be sought form the recent visit of the Katrina in the United States. Similar incidents have common in most parts of the world. There is a theory also to explain this effect called "Butterfly Effect". The wing flapping made by a butterfly somewhere can lead to hurricane in other part. Further some predicts that if this warming continues then Ice age is not far away.
- Ecosystem:There are reports of extinction of species in the hilly areas as well as the forests. Many medicinal plants from the himalayas have become extinct.
- Forest fires
- Increase in the level of skin allergies and cancer.
- There is a rise in the spread in the disease in the hot and humid weather.
- Increase in the number of people and animals killed due to heat waves during the summer.
- Increase in the rain in some parts but decrease in other.
- Effect on Agriculture: Less productivity of the grains and the highest impact to the fishing industries.
- Water Scarcity due to lowering of the ground water levels due to evaporation and decreases filling time and increased utilization for the purpose of cooling.
